PRESS RELEASE
CAN BUS Seminar
Current vehicle systems use a serial bus, Control Area Network (CAN), to communicate vital control and status information relating to engine, transmission, brakes and more. Much of this information is of importance to automotive test and development engineers either for the collection of long-term statistical data or to supplement measurement data acquired from other sensors and instrumentation.
The Engineering Integrity Society is holding a one-day seminar entitled Multiplexed Digital Information for Test & Development at the MIRA Ltd vehicle proving ground in Nuneaton on Wednesday 22nd June 2005 covering the use and abuse of information collected from OBD and CANbus. Speakers from industry, research and academia will introduce the fundamentals, format, accuracy and use of the digital data followed by presentations on techniques, hardware and software available for practical acquisition and measurement.
Details of the seminar programme can be found at the Engineering Integrity Society website, www.e-i-s.org.uk. Attendance is free to members of the Society. To register, email eis.seminar@mira.co.uk
