DURABILITY PRIZE
Engineering Integrity Society
The Durability Prize is awarded for the best
presentation given by an engineer up to the age of 25 on the date of submission.
Awards were made at the International Conference, Fatigue 2007 held
at Queens' College, Cambridge in March 2007.
The prize for best paper by a young engineer was so closely contested that it
was divided and presented to:
Dr Karen Perkins, Swansea University
"Corrosion fatigue in a 12% chromium steel through the effects of aqueous salt environments "
and
Toshio Osada, Japan
"High temperature fatigue strength of heavily machined and crack-healed alumina"

Stuart Hambling (Winner)
"The influence of steel strength and loading mode
on the fatigue properties of resistance spot welded H-beam components"
and
Rachel Edwards (Runner-up)
"Introducing fretting fatigue to the fatigue damage
map".
