PRESS RELEASE

The Engineering Integrity Society held a successful one day conference at Ford Motor Company, Engineering Centre, Dunton on May18.

The focus was to improve the Business Case for investment in the technologies of Engineering Integrity. Topics such as Residual Strain, the Validation of Predictive Models and Virtual Testing identified essential areas inadequately served by existing methods that require better understanding to realize the clear financial benefits available.

These vital issues apply to a wider industrial base and although the conference was well attended and well received the absence of other industries such as Rail and Aerospace were disappointing.

A second conference to continue these debates has been requested and discussions are already taking place for a date later in the year at another significant venue. Abstracts of the papers presented.
